Aus Lights on the River

Relive the wonderful performances and visual spectacular of Aus Lights on the River, recorded live on Kaurna Yerta (Adelaide) on 26 January 2024.

Over 30,000 people gathered in Elder Park/Tarntanya Wama to celebrate their sense of belonging to this great country and showcase their cultural identity with a Welcome to Country by Senior Kaurna Elder Frank Wanganeen featuring Ngarrindjeri dancer Kenny Johnson, followed by the Respecting Country Parade, featuring over 1,500 South Australians from around the world, and the big sounds of Matsuri Taiko Japanese drummers.

As the sun went down, audiences were treated to extraordinary performances by Bates and the Song Birds Ensemble, the Adelaide Youth Orchestras, Young Adelaide Voices and Adelaide Choral Ambassadors, followed by a spectacular cinematic fireworks display lit up the banks of the River Torrens/Karrawirra Parri.

Aus Lights on the River was presented by the Australia Day Council of South Australia and recorded live by Channel 44 Adelaide.
